On Sunday evening, April 28, approximately one hundred and eighty members and friends of the Napa Valley Wine Library Association gathered at the library to sip wine, nibble hors d'oeuvres, enjoy the view of "Barney's Backyard" vineyard, and "celebrate the collection."

Association president John Skupny summarized our accomplishments and plans in this fortieth anniversary year, and introduced renowned historian William Heintz. Mr. Heintz described his unique and extensive archival materials, recently acquired for the Napa Valley Wine Library collection thanks to a number of generous local donors.

Door prizes included historic books written by the late Romi Gould (a founder of the association,) stunning current books by Chuck O'Rear and Michael Chiarello (kindly contributed by their authors,) and one free Life Membership in the association, which was awarded to Chris Weber.

The event was co-hosted by the Trustees of the St. Helena Public Library and the Friends of the Library.
