Bob Lamborn Scholar for 2006

 

Our 2006 Bob Lamborn Scholar is Michael Tumilty. Michael was born and raised in St. Helena and, in 2002, graduated Suma Cum Laude from DeVry University in computer information systems. Since 2004, Michael has been taking oenology classes at Napa Valley College and working at wineries such as Edgewood, Franciscan and Freemark Abbey. Currently, he is at Schramsburg.

Michael has also moonlighted with the “The Maikai Gents,” and co-produced the “The Wiki Wiki Grog Shop” CD of Hawaiian party songs with Judd Finkelstein, a fellow musician and the winemaker for Judd’s Hill. With so many young wine enthusiasts new to Napa Valley, Michael is looking forward to helping us get out the word to his peers about the rich history of winemaking available in our collections.
