Winter 2013 REPORT - Our 50th Anniversary Weekend Remembered
The Winter 2013 REPORT reviews two stellar occasions. The first is our 22nd Winemakers Seminar, “A Toast to the Future: the Next Generations,” which the winemakers said they really enjoyed because it gave them a chance to meet and talk with one another as well as our members and guests. The second is the 50th Annual Tasting, “A Toast to History: Vintner’s Choice” at which 99 Napa Valley wineries poured at least two wines, old and new, rare and newly released. Nearly half of those doing the pouring were winery principals. Their generous participation helped make this landmark tasting especially celebratory.
Our splendid cover photograph and those documenting both the seminar and tasting were taken and contributed by Tim Kennedy of Storycellars.
We also review a very thoughtful and irreplaceable addition to the NVWL Collections from Phoebe Ellsworth who spent five years, from 2000 to 2004, drawing and in conversation with the owners of Bartolucci Vineyards on Dean York Lane, St. Helena.
